Releasing 30 Butterflies

Yesterday I took 30 Monarchs to a local boating access called Colchester Pond. A storm was brewing and they were not thrilled about being released but I had kept them for 9 hours in the mesh baskets so I didn't want to starve them. 27 took off fairly well, but three decided to hang around on my shirt and head for another 20 minutes while a downpour came through. After that 2 of them took off and the last one remained with me while I walked around for another 20 minutes. I was sad to see them go but I have 24 more to release today!
